The functions of the three filters in screw air compressors
The three functions of the screw air compressor filter (air filter, oil filter, oil-gas separator)
1. Air filter (air filter)
Core function: Filter the external air entering the air compressor, intercept dust, sand, willow fluff, impurities and other particles.
Key significance:
Prevent impurities from entering the main rotor, avoiding rotor wear and scratches;
Reduce oil contamination, extend the service life of oil separation and oil filter;
Avoid air intake blockage, ensure the exhaust volume and operating efficiency of the unit.
2. Oil filter (oil filter)
Core function: Filter the metal powder, oil sludge, carbon deposits, and fine impurities in the circulating lubricating oil.
Key significance:
Maintain clean oil, ensure lubrication, cooling, and sealing effects;
Protect bearings, rotors, and oil path components, reducing wear;
Prevent oil path blockage, avoid high temperature and unit failure.
3. Oil separator (oil separation core)
Core function: Separate the lubricating oil in the compressed air from the compressed air, achieving oil and gas separation.
Key significance:
The compressed air has an acceptable oil content, meeting the requirements of the downstream gas-using equipment;
Recycle and reuse the oil, reducing fuel consumption;
Prevent oily compressed air from corroding pipelines, valves, and pneumatic tools, avoiding product oil contamination.
The three filters are essential maintenance components for the air compressor. Regular replacement can help: reduce malfunctions, save electricity and energy, extend the lifespan of the main unit, and ensure the quality of compressed air.
